United Wholesale Mortgage and Detroit Pistons team up – The Oakland Press

The Detroit Pistons and United Wholesale Mortgage have entered into a multi-year partnership.

Beginning in the 2021-22 season, UWM will be the Official Jersey Partner of the Basketball Franchise as well as its exclusive Mortgage Partner. The UWM logo will appear on the left strap of the jersey.

The terms of the contract are not disclosed. Flagstar Bank was the Pistons’ former partner.

Detroit Pistons Vice President Arn Tellem said in a statement that the partnership goes beyond branding and will focus on giving back to the community while growing the game of basketball with young people.

“United Wholesale Mortgage is a leading Michigan-based company that shares our mission to provide unparalleled customer service while making a difference in the community,” Tellem said. “Our relationship with UWM will provide the opportunity to engage fans in a variety of ways by collaborating off the court on initiatives that honor those who serve and drive youth participation and excitement through basketball.”

Kervin Grigg, senior vice president of the Detroit Pistons, said the franchise does not normally disclose the terms of its deals.

“The Flagstar deal has come to an end and a new opportunity has opened up with UWM,” Grigg said.

UWM CEO Mat Ishbia said his company “will leverage this partnership to catapult national awareness not just for UWM, but for mortgage brokers across the country.”

This includes designation of UWM as a supporting partner of the Pistons’ ‘Hoops For Troops’ community relations platform, which includes on-field recognition of a selected ‘military hero of the game’ in 10 home games. regular season, as well as attendance at the club’s annual veterans job fair.

UWM will also be named the presenting sponsor of the “At Home on Sunday” game nights which will take place at each regular season game played on Sunday.

Additionally, UWM will serve as the title sponsor for the franchise’s honorary ball kid promotion at each home game and will be named title sponsor of the organization’s annual 3-on-3 Summer Tournament which began in 2019. .
