BTS x New Era x MLB 2022 Collab Merch Collection: Release Date

The BTS Army, of course, knows all there is to know (and even more) about the seven members of the world’s greatest boy band, but the casual fan might not know just how much Jungkook, Suga , J-Hope, V, Jin, RM and Jimin love the American pastime.

Of course, the members of BTS are much more attuned to the Korean iteration of the sport, having participated in many games and even in partnership with MLB Korea.

Baseball loves BTS right away, after putting the cutouts of the boys in the stands for the 2020 MLB World Series and inviting Jungkook to throw out the first pitch for a Japanese baseball game.

Suga also appeared at a Dodgers game several years ago to support star player Hyun-Jin Ryu, who moved from the Korean KBO league to MLB in 2013 (Ryu now plays for the Toronto Blue Jays).

So it should be pretty obvious that BTS loves baseball a lot. It’s fitting that K-Pop stars are once again teaming up with New Era and tapping MLB for some officially licensed mash-up merchandise.

Available on New Era’s Japanese website on May 13 for ¥4,730 to ¥6,600 (approximately $36 to $50) apiece, the latest BTS x New Era collaboration is much more involved than “Beyond the Scene” gear. which they created in 2020.

Cleverly juxtaposing BTS songs with MLB team logos, caps, bucket hats and t-shirts are printed with graphics that riff on hits ‘Butter’, ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Black Swan’ , which renders a buttery dab out of the Red Sox “B” or an illustrative swan beneath the Yankee’s inimitable doodle.

Lined with Coolera, the accompanying caps are also cut a little looser to suit the summer style.

It’s a good time to drop MLB licensed baseball gear. The season has only just begun and we’ve seen a standout Gucci collaboration, picking up where last season’s Polo Ralph Lauren and KITH collections left off.
