The Insider’s Guide to the 2021 MLB All-Star Game in Denver

What you need to know to enjoy MLB All-Star Week in the Mile High City.


Major League Baseball has planned a dream week for Denver fans and the many out-of-state visitors expected for the occasion. Here is the list of events.

When: July 9 to 13
Or: Colorado Convention Center
If any fan can dream of it, they’ve found their way to the five-day free baseball festival held at the massive convention center in the central business district. The greatest baseball in the world with signings like Hank Aaron and Yogi Berra? To verify. A batting cage that drives your swing pattern? You bet. An opportunity to do the same exercises as the pros? Of course, just be sure to test your speed and agility before hit the food court. Play Ball Park will also host a rotation of baseball legends giving autographs, as well as a mini youth pitch, games, prizes and more.

When: July 10, 9 a.m.
Or: Civic Center Park
A scenic run (or walk) through downtown Denver is always a treat, but this 5k through Capitol Hill and the Golden Triangle neighborhood sweetens the deal even further by displaying a team of mascots at the line. finish line to encourage the competitors. Once you’ve caught your breath, stop by the beer garden and listen to live music as you linger over a pint. Tickets start at $40 for adults and $20 for children. Be sure to register before 11:59 p.m. on July 5.

When: July 11, 1 p.m.

Settle into Rockies Stadium for an epic doubleheader (tickets start at $20). The first is the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game, featuring a selection of top Minor League players who get the chance to show off on a Major League stage. Pay close attention – the MVPs of this American League vs. National League game might just offer a glimpse of baseball’s next stars. Participants in the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game later in the afternoon may have less to prove, but they are no less competitive. Expect familiar faces like dance moms alum and YouTube star JoJo Siwa, Grammy-nominated producer and DJ Steve Aoki, Riverdale actor Charles Melton, Queer Eye’s Karamo and others.

When: July 11, 5 p.m.
Or: Bellco Theater at the Colorado Convention Center
Usually held in early June, the first round of the MLB Draft will now take place during All-Star Weekend, meaning the sport’s biggest stars will be on hand to celebrate the new signings. Bonus: the 5,000-seat Bellco Theater is large enough to accommodate members of the public. TBA ticket information in the coming weeks.

Gatorade All-Star Workout Day

When: July 12, 3 p.m.

Major League Baseball’s best players are taking to the field for the first time this weekend…to get some exercise. But what training! You’ll need a ticket to the Home Run Derby later today to attend, but don’t miss the chance to see the world’s best batting practice framed by mountainous views.

When: July 12, 6 p.m.

Experts are already predicting Denver’s high altitude and dry climate will make 2021’s Home Run Derby (tickets start at $158) the slugfest of the century. So will the presence of some of the best hitters in the game, including Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels and Trevor Story of the Colorado Rockies.

When: July 13, doors open at 3 p.m.; the first pitch is at 5:30 p.m.

It’s playtime, baby! After the All-Star Red Carpet Show at noon (fans can watch athletes walk the custom purple carpet on the MLB Network at 1 p.m.), the 91st Annual Midsummer Classic will kick off (tickets start at $181).
